Manila, Philippines - The newly-crowned Groove Philippines champions of 2010, NEXT TO INNOCENCE, will fly the Filipino flag at the World Supremacy Battlegrounds championship this November.
In a jam-packed Music Hall at the Mall of Asia, over 3000 people came to witness the finale of GROOVE. With 25 of the country's best dance crews on show, it was a long and arduous task for the panel of judges, led by Australian ex-pat Tristan Haber. The competition was fierce - there were so many amazing crews that the top ten dance groups were separated by less than four points between them.
The top three crews, Next to Innocence from Bulacan, Aligma Dance Troupe of Batangas City and Company of Ateneo Dancers will advance to represent the Philippines at the biggest international dance competition in the southern hemisphere, BATTLEGROUNDS in Melbourne, Australia on November 21.
It was also announced by country director Peeya delos Reyes of the latest development for Asia next year - the launch of the WORLD ELITE International Championship in APRIL 2011. Manila will be the host city, with over 24 countries from Africa, Europe, Australasia and the Americas expected to be invited exclusively to join the hottest new competition.
