Ballet Philippines' SONGS: A Spectular Opening for Dragon Songs Season

“If you look at a dancer in silence, his or her body will be the music. If you turn the music on, that body will become an extension of what you're hearing.”
― Judith Jamison, Dancing Spirit: An Autobiography

The season opener of Ballet Philippines set the standard to be sustained all throughout their shows this year.

The first set of dances put the audience in awe as the dancers swayed through the music and felt their oneness in the songs' message.

Everyone awaited for the faces to do the routine of a BP Classic Moriones choreography. This touch of Philippine culture to the show embarked the roots of our rich artistic heritage.

The solo final number concluded the concept of this dance concert, a dancer singing with her body. Every extension and every turn was executed in such a way that the viewers can identify what the song is all about.

This dance concert proves that there is really a strong connection between dance and music. Only a great dancer though can let his/her audience experience that connection through his/her performance.
