Profile of Dance Instructors for Summer Workshops 2012

Billy Castaneda
(Malaysian Wau Bulan)

Choreographer, dancer and character actor in the field of musical theater. He is an alumnus of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Taguig Campus, with Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy and Master’s Degree in Business Administration.

He is also a leader/member/performer of various groups namely PUPT Folk Dance Troupe, PUPT Pep Squad, TEAtro Miguel, Ministry of Dance and Drama, Buhawi Dance Artists, SIKAT Dance Repertory, St. Anne Theater and Dance Company, KISLAP and the Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group (Resident Company of the Cultural Center of the Philippines).

He delighted local and international audiences with Philippines, Asian and Broadway music and dances. Performances were staged in and out of the town. He choreographed astounding performances for Ms. Earth Beauty Pageant, Mutya ng Taguig, Unang Hirit, Wow Philippines, Dickies, Honda, Sahaya Muslim Festival and Shongkran Festival in Thailand.


Mervin Manuel
(American Broadway Jazz)


Mervin is a jazz and ballroom artist rigidly trained by Douglas Nierras Powerdance and seasoned by El Basico, the ballroom dance group of Sophie (Sangco) Dance Studio. He became both a pioneer member of D.A.N.C.E.! Philippines and of Front Liner Dance Company. Mostly dancing with different groups here in Manila and Bulacan, his charisma acts as a magnet for students to focus when he teaches in a dance class.


Kristina Rios
(Spanish Flamenco)



Kristina started her artistic career when she joined Polytechnic University of the Philippines' most dynamic theater organization, the Tanghalang Hulyo Beinte-Tres, Ink. during her 4 years in college. She was involved in various theater plays as an actress and as a production staff. To name a few, she played Mutya in the musical-dance drama play "Ang Huling Balasing", she was also part as a dancer in the dance drama play "Bonifacio", and as the over-all Stage Manager of OBRA Inc.’s ''Filipina.. Bakit Ikaw?"
.
Currently, she is working in an insurance company but the thirst and hunger for art just keeps on burning. This led her to be a scholar of Centro de Danza Flamenca pioneered by the famous Ms. Clara Ramona which made her appreciate Flamenco and all in its form. She also starred in HUBO Productions’ In Nomine Matris (In the Name of the Mother), a Flamenco indie film supported by the Spanish Embassy in the Philippines. She was also a former scholar of Douglas Nierras Powerdance and Dancing Wounded Contemporary Dance Commune. She also became a pioneer member of D.A.N.C.E.! Philippines and ELITE Dance Company. 


Annabelle Reniedo
(K-pop)


The youngest instructor we’ve got, Anna exceeds all teens like her, lured to the Hallyu Wave. Aside from being part of several cover groups such as Ji Young of KARA, Minah of Girls’ Day, Hyuna of 4minute and Ga-in and Seo-Ah of Brave Girls; she has performed in several k-pop events since 2010. She is the founder of Timeline Production under which she now conducts her own k-pop class, the K-RAZE Dance Class, in partnership with Dancepinoy.com.
