TALULOT 2011

GUIDELINES

 

1.    The competition is open to all devotees and shall highlight the Theme “Makisaya, Makisayaw, Makiisa”.

 

2.    Registrations start on August 15, 2011 and shall end on September 15, 2010.

 

3.    The decision of the Talulot Board of Judges in both contest categories (Float and Street Dancing) shall be final and unappealable.

 

4.    Absolutely, no participant or contingent representative shall contact, in any way, or manner any judge with the intention of questioning the Board of Judges for manipulation. Should anybody be caught, their contingent shall automatically be banned in joining the festival.

 

5.    In order to preserve the non-political, democratic, and ecumenical objectives of Talulot, participants are prohibited from exhibiting or manifesting acts or gestures or designs, offensive to any aggrupation or groups and movements. In the event of any violation of this rule, the Committee reserves the right to disallow the offending contingent to continue further its participation in the parade.

 

6.    To avoid public disturbance during the parade, spectators are urged from indulging in excessive drinking of alcoholic drinks that may cause them to molest parade participants and spectators. Likewise, merry-makers during the parade are prohibited from smudging and wiping with facial make-up or black substance or the like. This act may cause fights and / or street brawls that may scare our devotees as well as local tourist. Violators shall be dealt with by the members of the Pasay Police Department and Barangay Tanods in the parade route.

 

7.    As host, the Shrine of Saint Therese, Magnificat Ventures Corporation, and the City Government of Pasay may perform as guest contingent and will head the parade. Other non-guest competing contingents will follow thereafter however, they must have the approval of the organizing committee for their participation. To ensure their respective place in the parade route, they must register and follow strict set guidelines.

GUIDELINES

 

1.   The dance entry must depict any theme or concept that is relevant to the Talulot.

Emphasis must be given to the concept of devotion or prayer.

2.   The Talulot beat shall be used, however variations may be allowed. Any other

beat is strictly prohibited and only live musical or percussion instrument shall be

used. Ten (10) shall be deducted from the total score against any contingent who

violates this provision.

3.   Total number of contingents must consist of a minimum of 10 to a maximum of

20 Contingents.

4.    The composition of the contingent shall be within the minimum of twenty (20)

and a maximum of fifty (50) dancers, a minimum of five (5) and a maximum

of twenty (20) instrumentalist. Instrumentalist as part of the contingent must be

in proper attire consistent to their theme / motif. Support staff for each contingent

shall be limited to ten (10) for security, food and other assistance.

5.    All hand props shall be carried by the dancers only all throughout the parade

route.

7.   Dance steps and choreography should be progressive all through out the parade

route to facilitate the continuity and orderly flow of the parade. Ten (10) points

shall be deducted from the total score against any contingent who violates this

provision.

8.   There shall be judges along the parade route to ensure the continuity of the

performance.

9.   Props must be relevant to the theme and carried by the dancers.

10. Contingents must be willing to carry streamers and/or logo of event sponsors.

11. Any violation of the aforementioned guidelines will be dealt accordingly and will

be automatically banned in joining the festival.
