MANILA, Philippines -- The concert of popular K-pop girl group 2NE1 at the Araneta Coliseum will be held on June 4, according to the organizer.

Happee Sy of Pulp Live Productions announced the date last night on Facebook as “our last hoorah before school starts.”

Sy also confirmed to Bulletin Entertainment that the event, dubbed as “The Party”, is really a concert to answer fans who were asking what will happen during the event.

“Yup,” Sy said in a text message to Bulletin Entertainment. She also clarified on Facebook that the event is not a fan meeting.

With the date now confirmed, fans are waiting to buy the tickets to the concert.

“Can’t wait,” “Super excited,” “Thank you for the amazing news,” and “Let’s go party Blackjacks” were just some of the fans’ reactions to the announcement:

The concert was originally scheduled on May 15 but was reset to June because of 2NE1’s comeback to the K-pop scene this April.

In addition to preparing for their Manila concert and new album, 2NE1 will be busy with their other activities.

2NE1 has signed up for a collaborative project with Adidas Originals in South Korea.

Last year, Adidas Originals designer Jeremy Scott made clothes for 2NE1 in time for the release of the girl group’s album.

In other news, Korean singer Kim Jaejoong, member of K-pop trio JYJ and formerly of TVXQ, beat Justin Bieber to emerge as the year’s best celebrity on microblogging site Twitter.

Jaejoong won the plum in the US-based 3rd Annual Shorty Awards held March 28 at the Times Center in New York City to honor the “best producers of short, real-time content” on Twitter. Jaejoong was not present during the awarding ceremony.

The singer, who has 388,049 followers on Twitter, got 5,668 votes to beat Bieber who accumulated 5,136 votes. Third in the rank was Kim Heechul, member of K-pop boy band Super Junior, who got 2,990. Niall Horan of UK-based boy band “One Direction” was fourth with 1,284 votes while Bieber’s girlfriend, Selena Gomez, got 702 votes to emerge fifth place.

Rounding off the Top 10 were Korean rapper and b-boy Jay Park, Jonas Brothers, Ivete Sangalo, Claudia Leitte and JYJ's Micky Yoochun. Xiah Junsu, another member of JYJ, wound up at 11th place.

Filipino nurse Ronivin Pagtakhan won the Shorty Award in the nurse category. He is a clinical instructor and lecturer at the Mapua Institute of Technology School of Health Sciences in Manila.

Ann Li, housemate in the “Pinoy Big Brother Teen Clash of 2010,” won in the fashion category.

Other winners are the Jonas Brothers in music, Barney Stinson in entertainment, Neil Patrick Harris in the actor category, and Stana Katic in the actress category.
