invites you to a three-week series
of refreshing international and local dance performances with

EAST WEST DANSE

EAST WEST DANSE: Pinoy-French Contemporary Dance Week

The event aspires to showcase Filipino and French contemporary dance as well
as an initial encounter with Middle Eastern dance!

Each week, the event will feature different artists:
BELLYFEST 2010
(June 5, 2010)
Jill Ngo, Arcel Benson, Nilda Boquiren, Lovely Rodriguez, and Belinda Azhaar
Bellyfest 2010 is a celebration of the body and womanhood through the beauty of Middle Eastern dance. A day filled with colorful dancing, exciting dance workshops and performances and shopping at the Arabian themed market! And of course, do not miss the culminating Grand evening show that features the finest bellydancers in the country today with the special participation of international bellydancers, Belynda Azhaar and TeraLynda.

PINOY-FRENCH CONTEMPORARY DANCE WEEK
(June 15 and 17, 2010 : 7pm)

A French Embassy Collaboration with PETA
Eolipile Company, Rhosam Prudenciado Jr. and Donna Miranda

Eolipile is a French dance company founded by Lin Yuang Shang, a French-Taiwanese choreographer and dancer specializing in warrior roles and acrobatics. The company is known for merging contemporary dance, martial arts techniques and multi-media exploration.
Together with Eolipile, two young contemporary movement pieces from Filipino artists:
Rhosam Prudenciado Jr., who trained in France, and Donna Miranda, well-known contemporary dancer
will also be featured.

SAYAW, SABEL
(June 26, 2010 : 2pm and 7pm)


Performers:
Christine Crame, Annette Cruz-Mariano, Judell De Guzman-Sicam, Gaye Galiluyo, Sony Locsin, Alden Lugnasin, Ernest Mandap, Ryan Ocampo, Camille Ordinario-Joson, Georgette Sanchez and Perry Sevidal

Guest artists portraying the title role:
Maribel Legarda, Cecile Synangco, Melvin Lee and Shamaine Centenera Buencamino

Agnes Locsin, foremost Filipino neo-ethnic choreographer, presents her newest dance creation. Known for her unconventional work, Agnes Locsin presents a performance that is inspired by National Artist Ben Cabrera's painting, Sabel. This will be a collection of dances depicting how Filipinos go through life in the midst
of all their troubles and tribulations with shining resilience.
