Two Dance Cultural Events this Saturday! Aliwan Fiesta 2010 and EMERGE! 2010

The much-awaited event in Metro manila is back! The Aliwan Fiesta 2010 is set to unfold once again and bring the best, biggest, loudest, and the most colorful festivals from all over the Philippines to Manila!

The Aliwan Fiesta is a yearly event organized by the Manila Broadcasting Company (MBC).

This year’s Aliwan Festival 2010 is scheduled April 22-24, 2010.This year, the festival will be having a new route. The Aliwan Festival Streetdance will commence at the back of the Mall of Asia and the final dance showdown will be held in front of the Aliw Theater in Sotto Drive, just beside the CCP (Cultural Center of the Philippines.

• SIKLAB: Igniting the Fire, Sustaining the Spirit

Get your cameras ready. Watch out for SIKLAB, an improvisational social sculpting event on the streets of Manila. Through interactive artistic happenings, various artists will explore the question: "How can we inspire everyone to participate in what is emerging?" EMERGE!2010 culminates with a final gathering to celebrate all that has emerged as well as all that is to come. Come and share stories, photographs and videos from ALAB-DIWA, SIKLAB, and the EMERGE!2010 International Training. This will end with a final jam session of music, dance and visual art, as well as a contextualizing forum with keynote speakers such as Orland Bishop, Walter Siegfried Hahn, Joey Ayala and Nicanor Perlas. From this Sacred Space, sparks of a new reality will be carried out into the world.
