Manuk-manuk

It is a Yakan dance more popular as the Paunjalay. This dance features the sprightly movements of the woodpeckers whose appearance signals the beginning of the planting season. Paunjalay, with its languid and symbolic arm movements, ceremoniously opens important events. Ladies in genuine Yakan costumes from the ancient looms of Basilan dance to the authentic beats of the agong , kulintang and gabbang.
