The Spaniards brought the lanceros to the country and the folks assimilated easily it to their repertoire of dances. Popular version of the Philippine Lanceros are the Lanceros de Tayabas from Aurora province, Lanceros de Negros from Silay City, Lanceros [de Laguna] from Pagsanjan, Laguna and the Lanceros de Lingayen from Pangasinan.
