La Gallina Ciega is a dance that became popular in Manila at the turn of the century. It began as a game like blind man's buff (la gallina ciega means "the blind chicken"). Later it evolved into a polka-like dance in which a blindfolded guitarist is teased and flirted with by a group of women.
