Jota Calbigana

Named after the town of Calbiga in Western Samar. This is another Filipinized version of the Spanish jota. It Castilian flavor is very evident in its posturing and vivacity. A song provided by the spectators goes with the dance. The transcription of this dance and the music could have been done by Mrs. Francisca Aquino, yet it did not find its way to print in her voluminous research outputs because of considerable reasons.
