Dos Amigos

Dos Amigos is performed as a part of comedia (a play), usually held during a town fiesta. This festival dance originated in Capul Island, Northern Samar. "Dos Amigos" means two friends. The dance derived its name from the folk song of the same title.

The Dos Amigos dance steps like the pitad (stepping) banyak (kicking), tukud-tukud (propping), amigos (friends) and paniprak (merry-making) are very lively and frolicsome.

Another version of the dance was discovered in Calbayog, Samar by a Visayan dance researcher Libertad Fajardo, though the Dos Amigos is native to Capul.
