Birginia is usually performed in big social gatherings by prominent members of the community in Enrile, Cagayan. The Birginia is the Filipino adaptation to the American quadrille, the Virginia Reel. Another version of the Birginia came from Cuyo, Palawan danced among the Visayan settlers in that town. Ramon Obusan discovered the Cuyo version in one of his forays into the study of our dance culture.
