Hip Hop Martial Arts

The use of katas, kicks, jumps, moonwalks, side slides, numchucks, katanas, and basic hip hop and martial arts movement. The dance was initially developed by Sensei Pacer, who is a 5th Degree Black Belt in Japanese Kempo, as a form of effective cardio exercise. The dance focuses on the energy of the music and movement combined.

Hip-Hop MA was highly influenced by Michael Jackson, with his passion, control and presentation. There is also influence from Bruce Lee with his kicking style and martial arts presence, Gene Kelley and Fred Astaire who incorporated the use of props into their dancing. While Capoeira does use dance as a form of fighting style, Hip-Hop MA uses dance to enhance the artistry of martial arts as opposed to its functionality.
